PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

  • The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for overseeing employees in both Car and Locomotive mechanical crafts.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Applicant must have mechanical and electrical background;
  • Must be familiar with FRA Rules and Regulations and be able to prepare and properly fill out all forms required for the operation of Diesel Locomotives;
  • Will supervise mechanical crafts, car & locomotive;
  • Applicant must be familiar with AAR Rules of Interchange, AAR billing procedures, Open Top Loading Rules & inspection of freight cars;
  • Have knowledge of Car Department procedures including reports;
  • Have the ability to instruct Carmen in all phases of Car Repair & Train Yard operations, including computer skills, including but not limited to Web Mail, SAP, CRB, ITM, TYES, NEXUS/YARD PLANNER;
  • Will be required to respond outside of terminal, on 24 hour call as required.

Medical Requirements:
