Summary of Duties: Provides directs nursing care pre, intra, and post-operatively under the direction and supervision of the center supervisor and medical director, utilizing nursing skills under the NCBON scope of practice and facility policy and assisting physician to obtain optimum patient outcomes.

Monday-Friday: 6:45AM-3:30PM

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gathers pertinent clinical information including medical history and vital signs, performs physical assessment, provides procedure information, answers patient questions and ensures informed consent is obtained prior to procedure.
  • Monitors patient’s condition pre, intra, and post-procedure, paying particular attention to possible complications or reactions from administered medications, sedation and contrast media and provides ongoing information to the physician and vascular access team members.
  • Documents and maintains accurate patient medical records.
  • Administers medications including Intravenous Moderate Sedation per physician orders and in compliance with company, federal, state and local regulations.
  • Monitor and properly record use and waste of all medications during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate narcotic drug log.
  • Maintains competencies with emergency operational procedures and initiates emergency measures as needed.
  • Observes and maintains OSHA and Radiation Safety monitoring policies.
  • Consistently follows HIPPA policies and procedures and demonstrates compliance both in and out of the office setting. Participates in all training and educational opportunities offered by the practice.
  • Assist in procedure room preparation, maintain radiation safety while c-arm is in use, ensure sterile technique usage, act as team leader, and serve as surgical technologist during procedures as necessary.
  • Act as Patient Advocate and address all patients concerns and questions.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and personal accountability in all interactions with patients, physicians, co-workers and vendors during personal, electronic or telephonic communication. Exhibits teamwork by performing tasks or duties outside of ones’ assigned role.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist center supervisor in maintaining inventory count, including, but not limited to checking for expiration dates, and assisting with ordering and restocking as needed.
  • Assist physician/center supervisor in completing/reporting adverse event reports (State required and Internal).
  • Assists in quality assurance measures, including, but not limited to operation, inspection, and maintenance of facility equipment and operating systems while ensuring a clean, safe and sanitary environment at all times.
  • Report malfunctions and maintenance needs to center supervisor.
  • Inspects emergency equipment on regular basis and restocks as needed.
  • Assist with assessment and discharge, patient recovery post-procedure care, patient/family post-procedure education.
  • Maintains efficient center workflow by assisting with transporting patient from pre/post op area to procedure room.
  • Communicate pertinent information to Dialysis Centers as directed by physician.
  • Assist in scheduling patients as directed by the physician/center supervisor.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as needed.

Requirements:

  • RN, BSN from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current State Nursing License Required
  • Minimum 2 Years Clinical RN Experience in Vascular Access Center, ICU, Special Procedures, Telemetry, Radiology, Cath Lab, Operating Room or Critical Care Preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Required within 6 Months of Employment)
  • Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Record)

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires frequent stooping, bending, standing, sitting and computing keyboarding, as well as wearing Lead protective gear. Auditory proficiency for frequent telephone use and vision correctable to 20/20 is also required. May be required to occasionally lift items and supplies up to 25 lbs. Work environment is often stressful and requires the ability to multitask.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
