Environmental Technician Job at UNIVERSAL CONSULTING SERVICES
UCS has an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Technician to join a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This is awarded work with the opportunity for immediate hire.
The Environmental Technician duties include:
- Review employee environmental and safety programs to include a summary of planned inspections and compliance evaluations, and recommend improvements
- Conduct tests and field investigations
- Conduct chemical and physical laboratory and field tests according to prescribed standards
- Create and manage environmental metrics and measurements
- Create and deliver HAZMAT/HAZWASTE training classes
- Create environmental program training packages
- Arrange and support Environmental meetings
- Develop and maintain command Environmental and Safety instructions, policies, agreements, and memorandums of agreement/understanding
- Gather and present data in response to data requests from internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct systematic pollution prevention surveys, and submission of survey findings to the Environmental Manager
- Prepare HAZMAT/HAZWASTE reports for services in accordance with applicable instructions
- Must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- 2-3 years of experience with Environmental procedures/protocol and Hazardous Waste handling
- Previous experience supporting a DoD Agency preferred
- Experience conducting tests and field investigations
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Great organizational skills
- Highly motivated
