We are currently seeking a highly motivated full-time SOLIDWORKS Designer to develop and update drawings for custom jobs/projects for our customers. Jewell Machinery is an authorized dealer of Barko, LiuGong, Dressta, Wacker Neuson and Trelan by Bandit equipment as well as Jewell Manufacturing carriers; we also fabricate custom machines to meet customer-specific needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the designer on new and existing custom projects as well as updating past project files.

Responsibilities:

• Use SolidWorks to design, model, and document new products and features.
• Develop, validate, and verify assembly documents and manufacturing instructions.
• Using specifications and sketches, generate final drawings including certified prints for fabrication. Drawings are produced using SolidWorks models.
• Verifies dimensional integrity of part details, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure or project.
• Processes drawing corrections and design change requests as required.
• Communicates with manufacturing personnel to resolve drafting errors, insufficient information on drawings and other drafting related issues.
• Ensure the accuracy of existing BOM’s – creating and updating as needed.
• Create and modify accompanying manuals or related literature.
• Maintain file library of product designs, styles, and components.
• Assist and implement robust quality control measures.
• Ability to perform assignments with instruction regarding tasks required and expected results, generally under minimal supervision from managers or higher-graded personnel.
• Ability to respond to all inquiries from other internal departments or manufacturing personnel. Includes resolving design and drafting issues with manufacturing personnel and resolving order submittal errors with sales/order entry personnel.
• Ability to work on multiple priorities with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Positive attitude with integrity and an eagerness to excel.
• Minimum 2-year degree in related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of related experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks is required.
• On site work requried.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of the job, may lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves a variety of movements including sitting, standing, walking, and contorting as needed to work in awkward positions while working to fully understand and/or solve issues. Noise level is usually moderate to high. Majority of the work is done indoors.
