Our excellent apprenticeship program is designed for everyone, but includes added features for Veterans and current Military personnel or employees who are interested in becoming a fire sprinkler installer. The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has accepted Total Fire Protection Inc, into its exclusive Apprenticeship Program. During your first year working for Total Fire protection you may be eligible to earn a monthly educational benefit check from the VA in addition to your Total Fire Protection payroll check. We will work closely with you and the VA to verify your qualifications for the program and ensure you receive the maximum benefit.

Job Summary:
Job duties include installing, repairing, and inspection of fire sprinkler systems. The position requires the ability to cut, thread, bend, and install pipe and other related materials according to specifications. Travel outside the state is required.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years old.
- Able to work at unlimited height restrictions.
- Valid driver’s license – preferred
- Have general knowledge of the construction field.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
Essential Job Functions:
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders and benders
- Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment
- Cut and bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, and mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand tools and power tools
- Lay out full full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints per specifications for installation.
- Learn how to do inspections and preventative maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
- Always follow the Total Fire Protection Safety Handbook rules and regulations.
- Follow direct lead of project manager and/or field superintendent.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) of hard hat, safety glasses, full length pants and fall protection harness (when required).
