Desert Choice Transport is searching for dependable and reliable School Bus CERTIFIED DRIVERS and/or CDL CLASS B drivers willing to get Certified to fill positions which require working a split shift schedule in the following areas:

1) Supporting the Kyrene School District, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Guadalupe (need 10 drivers)

2) Supporting Schools located in Phoenix (need 8 drivers)

3) Supporting Schools located in Surprise (need 2 driver)

4) Supporting Schools located in Buckeye (need 2 drivers)

5) Supporting Schools located in Litchfield Park (need 1 driver)

** Please note that drivers that are hired for any of the locations listed above will only be working at the hired location. Information on what the specific schools will be given at the time of phone interview**

Hours:

These routes have a guaranteed 5 hours minimum a day, but may exceed the minimum so at times expect 6+ hours a day.

Summer work:

Possible summer school available and other things we have going on.

Extra work:

Field trips for not only the schools we provide transportation for but also for other schools and businesses that hire us to provide these services.

Driver Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive a bus safely and efficiently over a designated route according to an established time schedule. Must be able to read and understand maps and written instructions. Must possess Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations, especially parents school staff. Perform health care safety procedures including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid. Follow a set procedure to check the bus each morning ensuring it is in proper working order including checking for proper maintenance and safety. At the conclusion of the day's route, prepares bus for the following day, including checking fluid and fuel levels and replacing as needed. Cleaning inside and outside of bus, reporting need for maintenance and repair work directly to the supervisor. Securing and locking bus after each work day. Prepare reports and maintain records including route books, attendance and mileage sheets, student/family information and records. Field trips and sport runs on some campuses are available as well.

Driver Minimum Requirements:

Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the potential ability to perform the duties of the position and demonstrable safe driving experience in the operation of a motor vehicle. Have a general understanding of the laws, rules and regulations applicable to the operation of a vehicle in the transportation of school children.

MUST POSSESS (or be able to obtain): a valid Arizona drivers license CDL class B with both Passenger and School Bus endorsement with a clean driving record and a valid UP TO DATE ARIZONA BUS DRIVER CERTIFICATION CARD. Be willing to obtain fingerprinting clearance card if applicant does not have one, CPR and FIRST AID and CDL PHYSICAL current.
