Technical Inside Sales Rep Job at MW Industries, Inc.
Job Summary:
Develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers primarily by phone to increase sales of an organization's products and/or services. Uses technical knowledge of product offerings to advise and support sales teams with pricing estimates and implementation guidance based on customer requirements. Analyzes customer's technical specifications, recommends the best product specification and configuration; can technically speak with customer about needs. Reviews sales proposals for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
Coordinates with field sales team members to ensure goals are met. Provides support to customers over the phone and may conduct field visits as necessary. Develops and delivers technical product presentations and materials used to engage customers and prospects and educate sales teams.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develops a core understanding of products lines; both stocked and manufactured, within the company and their related applications.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the products' parts, functions, and processes and assisting to close sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the clients' needs
- Gains necessary knowledge to properly source and estimate product costs in order to prepare customer quotes.
- Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers
- Works to understand the design and engineering behind the products with capabilities of interpreting blueprints and product specifications.
- Achieves an understanding of the manufacturing processes involved in order to produce company products.
- Works with the Purchasing team to understand cost factors related to material and component purchases.
- Establishes relationships with the Customer Service team in order to comprehend typical customer to business communications and needs.
- Understands the Quality function as it relates to testing, product tolerances, documentation, certification and ISO compliance where applicable.
- Develops the ability to manage new and existing customer accounts with the capability of uncovering and identifying new business opportunities.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, sales setting; cold headed micro-components preferred (fastener product)
- BA or BS in a Technical or Business-related field required, preferred
- Experience selling to technical functions such as engineering or procurement
- Willingness to travel 40% of the time
- Self-starter, team player, highly customer focused, ability to grow account base
- Strong communication and decision-making ability required.
- The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.
