SUMMARY

Design deluge, water spray, fire sprinkler systems for industrial, and petrochemical facilities. Provide drawing, Calculation, and product submittal packages to the Authority Having Jurisdiction and the project General Contracting team. Produce and provide fully stock listed drawing sets for field usage along with material list take-offs for the project. Close coordination with the Project Manager, Superintendent and Estimating Department will be required throughout the life of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and Layout of fire sprinkler systems

• Review customer source drawings & specifications to determine design & submittal requirements.
• Analyze new & existing systems for NFPA 11, 13, 14, 15, 20 & 24 compliance
• Prepare submittal drawings, spool drawings and documentation for new sprinkler, deluge, foam and UG FW systems and alterations to existing systems
• Conduct hydraulic analysis of fire sprinkler system designs, including deluge, sprinklers, standpipes, pumps, foam systems, etc.
• Assist with the preparation of submittal documentation and technical data such as test procedures, status reports, project schedules and component maintenance manuals, etc.
• Coordination of sprinkler system with architectural, structural, and mechanical systems via 3D Design process
• Prepare acceptance test procedures and assembly instructions
• Updating of shop drawings and materials for project record and close out procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

• Senior Designer:
• 5+ Years’ Experience Preferred
• Bachelor s degree a plus
• Great communication & coordination skills required
• Extensive Working knowledge of NFPA 11, 13, 14, 15, 20 and 24
• NICET Level III or higher required
• Texas RME-G License
• Proficient in Fire Sprinkler Design Software HydraCAD for AutoCAD, and AutoCAD
• Must be Able to take projects from Design intent to full approved submittal & Materials ordered stage
• Full Project Management Experience a plus
• Strong Industrial Fire Protection Experience is a must.
• Ability to oversee and manage designer trainees a plus.

• Long periods of time working on a computer and performing repetitive key-boarding activities is required.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and may include little to no advanced notice.
