Accountable for all manufacturing activities for the plant with special focus on: EHS performance, process safety management, manufacturing excellence, productivity, staffing and people development, first pass quality and yield, as well as delivery performance. Stimulate and channel innovation and process improvements from within the organization, capital process execution and planning, manufacturing system optimization (cost, efficiency, cycle time, etc.). Work proactively with the local community and government to ensure Reichhold is a valued member of the community. Proactively work with other functions such as Commercial, Technical, Finance, etc. within the Reichhold organization, as well as Reichhold’s global organization to achieve goals with high team spirit and role model type collaborative Leadership.

Primary Accountabilities/Functions:

Provide leadership for daily operations and the development and implementation of the manufacturing strategy; ensure the safe and environmentally responsible operation of the plant; in this context, respect legal requirements as a minimum need and deal with local and national authorities. 20%

Champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective Quality Management System; initiate and implement quality improvement state-of-the-art processes as appropriate (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma). 20%

Work directly, collaboratively, with high team spirit, and proactively with other functions such as Sales, Technical, Finance Supply Chain, etc. to maximize business performance, including the commercialization of new products and the implementation of the overall business plan, strategy for Reichhold. 15%

Provide leadership for and drive initiatives to achieve corporate standards for plant quality and delivery performance. 10%

Drive efforts to achieve and guarantee corporate standards set for plant productivity and cost efficiency through the development and execution of annual operating plans, forecasts and supporting projects; manage total operating expenses to meet or exceed plan. 10%

Coach, train, and mentor personnel to develop a strong team with succession capability; drive the human resources processes within the plant in cooperation with and with the support of HR Management. 10%

Provide leadership for and drive activities to minimize working capital and guarantee proper levels of inventory control and just-in-time delivery; establish and execute procurement strategies for raw materials not managed on corporate level, as well as all plant-related procurement activities (except for raw material). 10%

Partner with other plant managers within the global Reichhold Organization to establish consistent, best-in-class manufacturing and business processes through proactive benchmarking efforts. 5%

Requirements:

Eight to 10 years minimum of direct manufacturing / operations experience with increasing responsibilities in a resin, polymer, or chemical manufacturing environment with focus on batch processing; BA or BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills and high degree of technical understanding, good business acumen, good people development skills and communication skills, effective decision-making ability, results oriented, and agent of change; collaborative attitude and strong leadership skills; eight to 10 years of resin, polymer, or chemical manufacturing experience in a batch process environment; five or more years of experience in Quality Management systems implementation.
