Shipping & Kitting Lead

The Shipping and Kitting Lead provides leadership to important aspects of our fulfillment operations including on-time and accurate shipping of customer orders, planning, forecasting, and staffing. Responsibilities also include maintaining productivity, quality and on-time service levels as established by senior management. The Shipping and
Kitting Lead will work closely with Warehouse and Corprate Leadership to create and maintain a culture of best-in-class (BIC) operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee shipping operations including on-time fulfillment, picking, packing, kitting, documentation, and loading
• Ensure the Kitting department meets and/or exceeds kitting goals in a timely manner
• Understand, work within, communicate, evaluate, and achieve department’s KPIs
• Demonstrate an absolute commitment to safety and model safe behavior
• Supervise and lead shipping and kitting employees, including scheduling, timecard approval, and labor management practices
• Provide thoughtful feedback and innovative ideas in support of daily operations
• Report defective material or questionable condition to Warehouse Manager
• Train, coach, and assess team members, performing corrective actions as necessary
• Lead the team to participate in decision making, problem solving, and continuous improvement process
• Work with minimum supervision and predict, identify, and resolve problems
• Transfer and assign work within work areas and relieve and replace team members as required
• Communicate effectively to teams across shifts, positively motivating team members and leading by example
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide quality control assistance
• Prepare international shipping paperwork
• Order Certificate of Analysis, work with legal on compliance matters

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience in a warehouse distribution center with 1+ years previous leadership experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to lead a diverse team to achieve goals
• Ability to work overtime hours as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Duties of this job requires daily lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• This role requires continuous standing for up to 12hrs
• The warehouse conditions reflect those outside the warehouse and is subject to hot and cold climates

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
