ARISE Schools is a New Orleans based network that includes the high performing Mildred Osborne Charter School, founded in 2013 and located in the Kenilworth area. ARISE Schools currently serves over 500 students in Kindergarten to 8th grade. Scholars, Families, & Staff
- Serve as member of the in-school Student Support Team for initial and re-evaluations.
- Completes psychosocial histories as part of the student evaluation including a parent and student interview.
- Completes classroom observations and teacher interviews in order to provide information on school performance and give impressions and recommendations for next steps.
- Provides individual and group treatment as indicated on Individual Education Plans and documents all clinical activity.
- Writes annual IEP goals and notes monthly progress and advisory reports related to IEP goals
- Documents efforts to reach non-responsive students and keeps monthly contact sheets.
- Conducts functional behavioral assessments and creates behavior intervention plans as needed for students.
- Participates in annual IEP meetings and Manifestation Determination Hearings, as needed.
- Participates on the RTI team and provides services and interventions as assigned including FBA & BIPs, individual counseling, parent interviews and psychosocial histories, community referrals, etc.
- Advises and collaborates with teachers, case managers, teams on students who exhibit behavior problems or are failing.
- Monitors student attendance for truancy, and handles all necessary correspondence and conferences related to truant students.
- Submits truancy referrals to court as needed.
- Works hard every day to deliver on the promise of an outstanding education for all students.

- Puts in effort outside of the classroom to build relationships with students and families.
- Regularly communicates with parents through phone calls, emails and notes.
- Participates in school committees throughout the academic year.

- Meets professional responsibilities through efficient work habits.
- Participates in the daily functions of the school including morning duty, lunch, recess and dismissal.
Qualifications
- Licensed Master Social Worker.
- Certification as a Qualified School Social Worker.
- Previous experience conducting formal and informal assessments, communicating with parents, providing behavioral interventions, and connecting families with community resources required.
- Experience working with students from a low income community.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, walk, stand, talk, and hear.
- Light lifting of equipment may be required (up to 20 lbs.)
