Wilshire Hospice is currently seeking a Part Time Registered Dietician for our San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara County service areas.

Overview of the Position
Under the direction of the Director of Patient Care Services, the Dietitian provides diet counseling services to Home Health and Hospice patients in their home. The dietitian coordinates with other Hospice and Home Health staff to provide an efficient integration of care.
Core Performance Requirements
1. Advises and consults with Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Medical Social Worker to provide appropriate dietary services for the following diagnosis: Post Surgical Care, Diabetes, Cancer, Stroke, Failure to Thrive, Enteral, TPN or any other appropriate medical condition that has led to nutritional debilitation of the patient.
2. As requested and/or MD ordered, the dietitian will assess home health and hospice patients medications for food and/or drug interactions.
3. As requested and/or MD ordered, the dietitian will interpret home health and hospice patient laboratory results in order to individualize dietary guidelines.
4. Provides diet counseling service in accordance with the plan of care as ordered by the patient’s physician, and approved by the IDT.
5. Assists the patient and family to understand, accept and follow dietary modifications ordered by the physician, as well as understand disease process and how the dietary system is affected.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered or eligible for registration as a dietitian by the American Dietetic Association.
- One year experience as a Dietitian preferred, experience in home health care/hospice preferred.
- Current CPR card required.
Job Types: Part-time, Per diem
Pay: $33.00 - $37.00 per hour
