Reporting to the Director of Service Development, the Regional Project Manager will have direct responsibility for overseeing the successful completion of project related opportunities and engagements to assure the highest level of customer experience in the industry. The Regional Project Manager is responsible for the creation, organization, execution, and completion of specifically assigned projects. This includes managing relevant employees, setting deadlines, communicating with company executives about the state of the project, ensuring projects stay on track and on budget, and adjusting if necessary, to meet new requirements. Regional Project Managers typically manage six different aspects of projects: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources. Additional responsibilities would include supporting the development of the BearCom Project Management Office, and assisting other Regional Project Managers when applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Over the course of a project, the Regional Project Manager will need to communicate with staff and clients, make decisions and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule. Important duties and responsibilities for a Project Manager include:
- Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources
- Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
- Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
- Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
- Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
- Communicating with executives to keep the project aligned with their goals
- Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed
- Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in appropriate technical/business discipline and/or business experience with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework.
- Practical knowledge of various project management methodologies, tools, and applications.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in Project Management.
- Familiarity with general construction industry and practices, including permitting process is beneficial.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to make important decisions under pressure.
- Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risk items within project related activities.
- Ability to communicate and work at all levels within BearCom and our largest customers
- Ability to manage and measure the profitability of large and strategic projects
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects and simultaneous performance objectives.
- Ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act based on a thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents.
- Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience.
- Ability to support cross-functional BearCom teams to achieve customer objectives and specific team goals within established time frames and requirements.
- Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflicts of interest and ethical responsibilities.
- Work is generally performed in an office environment; you must be able to operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal more than 75% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work utilizing high visual acuity / detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand / finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment most of the time is under 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges and project management deadlines.
- May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule.
- Travel will be required on an as needed basis and may be up to 25% of a given week.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Drug screenings and background checks are part of the hiring process, which may include a Motor Vehicle Record check.
