Summary of Primary Functions
This individual will provide corporate leadership in managing the Compact Construction Equipment product portfolio. The role will help develop and implement the sales plan, along with coaching a direct sales force. Lastly, this position will be responsible for the achievement of marketing objectives and profitability of the CCE sales department.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of the Sales Department and the organization.
  • Must be able to direct and motivate a professional team to accomplish the company’s growth and quality objectives. Able to lead multi-level staff and bring out the best in people.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and managing a staff of CCE account managers.
  • Perform research and acquire information on target customers, develop goals, quota’s forecasts, analyze sales statistics and develop sales campaigns.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction. Work with the sales team to know the customer’s expectations both today and the future.
  • Ensure that all subordinates understand the products, application, procedures, programs, and policies that are pertinent to their work.
  • Work closely with vendor representatives to maximize incentives and programs for increased market share.
  • Accept responsibility as the final source of the sales departments’ problems as they can affect whole goods transactions.
  • Must have an open-door policy with everyone in your department.
  • Communicate with employees on a daily basis.
  • Provide feedback to reinforce or redirect performance so that the employees can be successful.
  • Study departmental as well as store financials monthly.
  • Know the P & L, balance sheet and Quarter Forecast. Ability to accurately forecast and budget.
  • Participate in community and industry involvement.

Qualification:

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Pass Background/Drug screening
  • Management experience
  • Industry knowledge

Technical Skills & Knowledge
: Specialized skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Knowledge of AOR/ Customers /alliance partners, finance programs and products. (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
  • Broad based business, sales, CRM, and marketing skills. (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
  • Knowledge of heavy machinery dealer business practices, ideally including the practices followed at John Deere dealerships. (Has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners.)
  • Willing to travel into difficult environments and/or for extended periods of time.
  • Individual must be proficient in Driving Sustainable Results, Focusing on Customers, Making Sound Decisions, Influencing Effectively and Building Relationships.

Education:
Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements.

  • College degree required plus at least 10 years of industry related experience.
  • Heavy equipment service experience
  • Organization and communication skills must be highly developed.
  • Computer skills need to be broad based.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment:
