Hiring Immediately - Receptionist


Transdev Services, Inc. is seeking a Receptionist for its Boston Public Schools transportation contract. The Receptionist must be flexible and adept at multi-tasking and is generally required to perform a wide variety of tasks on a daily basis, sometimes even simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs daily Receptionist duties.
  • Assists the Human Resources, Operations, Finance, and Safety departments with audits, filing, preparing employee files, etc.
  • Provides administrative office support.
  • Utilizes Word and Excel to create letters and track monthly benefits billing, and other ad hoc projects.
  • Organizes meetings and team celebrations.
  • Tracks and manages incoming paperwork.
  • Creates information packets for current employees, new hires, and retirees.
  • Communicates with team members to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Escalates any necessary information to the appropriate staff member.
  • Reviews and updates forms and documents as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as a G.E.D.
Experience Required:
  • Two (2) years of clerical or office support work experience.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; and the ability to interact effectively with management, staff, and others outside the agency.
  • Good telephone manner.
  • Basic knowledge of all office equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand and follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to communicate well via the written word or verbally.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, be resourceful, work without constant supervision, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible attitude and approach to work assignments.
  • Travel requirement: Less than 5%.
Skills and Knowledge Preferred:
  • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Must successfully pass drug testing and background checks, including current and previous employment verifications.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • 95% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
  • Most work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
  • Field work may require carrying necessary equipment.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
