Duties:

  • Develops and maintains a system for effective clinical documentation (including maintaining training manuals) in accordance with county, state, and federal compliance standards
  • Participates in Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) Quality Assurance/Improvement meetings and training, as well as internal Quality Assurance/Improvement meetings
  • Identifies and recommends procedural changes for improvement to Quality Improvement Committee (QIC). To include the development of ad hoc reports for quality metrics
  • Trains and/or recommends training for staff as needed to help ensure quality of documentation and compliance with established standards
  • Assist the Vice President of Clinical Administration with program oversight and support various quality assurance activities as assigned
  • Responsible for developing memos and communication of new forms for documentation or other changes as determined by the QIC
  • Develops annual In-Service Training topics and schedules. Facilitates in-services trainings on topics related to documentation requirements and quality assurance compliance
  • Compiles monthly statistics on compliance, oversees timelines of notification to staff and other quality assurance matters for cycle reviews (including Treatment Plans)
  • Facilitates and coordinates monthly and annual peer review process for client charts with assigned direct service providers
  • Maintains a body of knowledge related to clinical quality assurance, documentation, and adult training methodologies in order to recommend improvements that are appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Current MSW or MFT. California Licensure + 5 years’ clinical experience working in Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Directly Operated or Contracted adult services agency
  • Must show valid California driver’s license and current automobile insurance prior to start date
  • Must maintain a good driving record and provide verification of current automobile insurance on an annual basis
  • Ability to pass thorough background check. Hillview will consider for employment all qualified applicants, include those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with applicable state and local laws, including City of Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance

Required Education:

  • MSW or MFT

Required Skills:

  • Prior administrative or management responsibilities experience is desirable.
  • Prior experience in auditing client charts and providing staff training in documentation and quality assurance is needed
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment both in the office and in the community
  • Must work well in a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, organize and prioritize tasks, demonstrate sound judgment, give attention to detail, be flexible, self-driven and motivated
  • Must have advanced computer and typing skills. Experience using electronic health records
