Motor Components has an exciting new opportunity for a Product Engineer position in Elmira Heights, NY.

As the Product Engineer, you will support the design and development of fuel pumps from product inception to release by providing timely engineering solutions to meet business and client needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Consults with the internal team and external customers to obtain and analyze engineering requirements, available data, and other preliminary matters pertinent to the inquiry/sale.
• Prepares cost estimates for quotations.
• Serves as a liaison to obtain and provide engineering specifications, expedite material requisitions and production work orders.
• Provides technical assistance to interpret, analyze and resolve procurement, manufacturing, installation, and field operating problems.
• Oversees product installation and trial operations, analyzes and resolves operating, and other field problems related to customer installations.
• Prepares reports, maintains records, files, and a references library incidental to application of products. Keeps informed of new developments in relation to engineering fields as they relate to the division’s products.
• Trains in-house to gain a thorough understanding MC products, applications, and specifications.
• Use a theoretical approach to solving problems within a team atmosphere.

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; preferably Mechanical or Electrical
• 3+ years of related engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Solid computer skills including MS Office and engineering design such as Solidworks/AutoCAD
• Experience working in an ISO and LEAN manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities, be flexible and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Understanding of the design and processing of Solenoid - DC Electro-Mechanical and DC Motor Driven Pumps a plus.
