We are looking to fill a front counter sales position. We are ideally looking for someone with prior retail experience. General hardware knowledge is a plus but not required.
This position is very important. You will be the face of our store. You will be dealing with the community from homeowners to contractors so, you MUST have a good attitude and drive to help. This is a family-owned business and we treat our customers as if they are part of the family. You will be expected to do tasks with little to no supervision. There will be a training probation period but after that we will have expectations that you can continue with tasks without being asked to do so. This position requires you to use a register and computer and stand for large amounts of the day. This job is a physical position that will require lifting heavy items on a daily basis.
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Running a cash register using QuickBooks software
- Assisting customers in finding items in the front of the store as well as walking them through the warehouse to show them products
- Stocking shelves and ensuring back stock room stays organized
- Putting up the weekly orders and reordering items that have been sold
- Checking prices of received items weekly and updating any that need changing
- Keeping a clean store with periodical vacuuming and mopping
- Work closely with all departments (warehouse, purchasing, accounting, and management) to ensure our customers that call is connected to the correct employee
- Refill propane for customers
- Quoting and ordering special items for customers
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
