Faculty Assistant Job at Saint Anselm College
Saint Anselm College, a Catholic, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking a full-time, academic-year Faculty Assistant II. The Faculty Assistant II will report to the Assistant to the Dean of the College, and will perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of faculty members and department chairs across multiple academic departments as well as committee and program work as assigned.
The successful candidate will:
- Maintain spreadsheets to track majors, assist with pre-registration for students, maintain syllabi and exam records, and work with Canvas instructional technology to post documents and assignments;
- Assist departments with budget preparation, budget management and purchasing;
- Schedule and prepare materials for department events/programs on campus and take meeting minutes as required;
- Handle department correspondence, reception, telephone, filing, copying and data entry;
- Maintain department websites;
- Manage work study student hiring, scheduling, and assignments and approval payroll;
- Cross-train and collaborate with other faculty assistants to fill in for absences or for special projects.
This position is 35 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (mid-August through late May) with an immediate start date. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume via the colleges website. Applications will be reviewed as they are received until the position is filled.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as proficiency maintaining database systems and generating excel and database reports.
- Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills as well as strong attention to detail required. Good proofreading, spelling/grammar and general writing and math skills also required. Must be able to handle sensitive information, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, with ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working at a college or university is desirable.
