Position: Data Scientist

Location: Jackson, MS 39211 (100% On-Site preferred. Otherwise, 2 to 3 days a week on-site. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION)

The Data Scientist will:

· Provide technical expertise to further the development of reports as well as evaluate and recommend tools for data reporting and analysis

· Assist in the development of scalable, organization-wide dashboards and reporting

· Utilize DOM claim and clinical data to perform advanced analysis to identify patterns and trends that may only be apparent using state-of-the-art tools and methods

· Work with multiple DOM teams, including both technical and non-technical staff, to develop and document production of reports generated for CMS and other external entities

· Identify possible gaps and recommend solutions for existing data and reporting/analytics solutions

· Review reporting from outside entities as needed to determine whether methods and presentation are sound, accurate, and consistent with DOM expectations

· Assist with data literacy campaigns to educate DOM users on availability of and potential use cases for DOM data

· Participate in various projects to provide expertise from a data and analytics perspective as needed

· Identify and assist with evaluation of project opportunities, risks, and impact to other areas

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:

· 7 years working as a data scientist with Information Technology (IT) projects.

· 3 years' experience working with Medicaid programs to develop organizational data strategy and improve data quality by reinforcing data integrity

· 3 years' experience with building and developing reports, including working with tools such as the R Project for Statistical Computing, Microsoft Power BI, and other tools

· 3 years' experience with working with technical and non-technical users of data

· 3 years' experience communicating, presenting, and teaching both technical and non-technical project members, including in person, at meetings and discussions with project members, etc.

· 3 years’ experience managing workloads to meet critical timelines and deadlines for IT projects

· 3 years’ experience with Healthcare IT projects and healthcare data

· 3 years’ experience with Medicaid projects or Healthcare payer projects

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
