Compliance Analyst Team Lead: File Reviews and Quality Check

Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
As a Compliance Analyst Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of Compliance Analysts who are conducting client file reviews on legal entities and natural persons to confirm the following are available and up to date.
Primary responsibilities:
Managing a team of Analysts/Senior Analysts whose primary role would be:
- Engage in conducting client file reviews on legal entities and natural persons to confirm the following are available and up to date
- Client Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer/ Client (KYC) documentation for natural persons: ID, residence proof, Source of wealth/funds & for legal entities: corporate records like Registers of directors/Members, constitutional documents like M& A, Incorporation certificates etc) and raise action points where missing or inadequate
- Undertake AML/KYC analysis on the client files viz screening of entities and related parties & confirming, discounting or escalating findings
- Based on above events undertake risk assessments and application of SDD, CDD and EDD as relevant.
- Follow up with local business teams and clients on missing requirements to facilitate collection and updating of system records
- To self-perform on a limited scale, the tasks outlined in first point.
- Monitoring & reporting of the team’s output to both project leadership and business to ensure adequate progress being made to close action points, escalations to concerned stakeholders on necessary events etc.
- Ensure effective resource planning and utilization
- Undertaking periodic quality sampling of team’s work output in line with internal controls and quality assessment parameters defined and provide timely feedback.
- Guiding and Mentoring team members on tasks outlined
- In instances where direct client outreach is required, proactively handling client queries in a timely and professional manner
- Act as primary point of escalation for any output/quality issues
Ideal experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant domain/ functional work experience, out of which 3-4 years should be fulfilling supervisory, including people management
- Understanding of AML, KYC, Due diligence processes and “ideally” corporate regulatory obligations both locally and globally
- Exposure and experience in screening tools such as World Check, Google Checks, DueDil, Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, Encompass, Sanction Scanner
- Ability to advice on screening results with experience on escalation to designated regulatory functionaries within the group where relevant
- Proficiency in MS Office/ Excel
