Summary
The Church Administrator is responsible for managing the business side of the church. This position should oversee healthy operations that will enable the church to focus on the service goals and mission work for the congregation and the community. The primary functions of this position include finance, human resources, and operations/compliance. This is a full-time position and will report to the Pastor. Work hours will be M-F from 8am-5pm and is an exempt level position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Formal financial education or proven work experience in fiscal oversight.
- Five years of managerial experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, and database management preferred.
- HR Generalist knowledge preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for contribution process
- Accounts Payable
- Prepare income statements.
- Coordinate the Pastor and Finance Committee to construct and maintain annual budget.
- Help SPRC and Pastor recruit and select candidates for positions.
- Process payroll and PTO reporting.
- Work with Pastor regarding employee progressive discipline.
- Coordinate employee training, oversee compliance and initiate workers comp reporting.
- Work with Trustees regarding property management
- Communicate with vendors and help negotiate contracts.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with outside audit firm for required business audits.
- Serve as the main contact for financial institutions and vendors.
- Provide information to Pastor, Treasurer, and Finance Chair as requested.
- Maintain applicant flow documentation and employee records.
- Document all workers comp incidences and ensure compliance and updated insurance.
- Work with SPRC and Pastor to have updated and documented employee policies.
- Coordinate employee training as needed.
- Enforce vehicle policy and make sure all drivers are approved and in compliance.

- Support other staff members and foster a healthy work environment.
- Any and all other responsibilities as assigned.
The mission of Aldersgate Abilene is to raise up deeply devoted disciples of Christ. The candidate should possess some or all skills such as compassion, patience, and administrative. The candidate must be able to communicate and listen well. To be successful in this position the administrative assistant should be collaborative, creative, great at follow up and completing tasks, and very dependable.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
