Business Services- Cash Applications Specialist Sr.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Cash Applications Specialist Sr. to join our team. We process high volumes of debit/credit balances, payment transaction reconciliation with focus on identifying discrepancies in payment and payor contracts. As part of our team, you reconcile account receivables and complete proper resolution of funds while observing all relevant regulations. Our ideal candidate is a motivated problem-solver who can collaborate effectively on larger teams and independently as well as possess accurate data entry skills with a keen eye for detail. This is a full-time, hourly position on UCHealth's Cash Applications team. You may be based in Fort Collins, Colorado Springs or Metro Denver CO. This is 80% work from home, 20% on-site in office.

Job Duties

Refunds/Credits:
  • Review of all payments and adjustments that have been applied to a charge or service line, which resulted in the credit balance, to determine appropriate resolution.
  • Process refunds according to current policy.
  • Compile and save supporting documentation for insurance refunds and overpayment letters.
  • Read and interpret Explanation of Benefit statements to identify proper adjustments according to claims processing criteria
  • Maintain or exceed productivity goals and quality standards.

Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile account receivables for remittances and cash management transactions
    • Create and maintain regular reporting to accurately track financial information
    • Perform periodic audits of remittance and cash management documents
    • Responsible for accurately identifying all payment discrepancies, batch errors, or other inconsistencies within remittances and deposits. This includes financial institutions as well as our accounting system
    • Monthly reporting to financial department and organizational leadership

    Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 1 year of relevant experience

    Preferred
    • Healthcare experience
    • Cash Applications experience in a professional setting
    • Requires critical thinking skills and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy within a high-volume transactional environment
    • Must possess advanced keen sense of detail and organization
    • Decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize amid time sensitive deadlines
    • Ability to work with and effectively communicate with all levels of Management

    The pay range for this position is: $19.67 - $25.57 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
