Overview:
Works with hazardous materials and explosives. Reports to and receives work assignments from Lead and/or Supervisor on activities. Follows standard operating and safety procedures for the handling, processing and assembly of propellants, chemicals and propellant containing assemblies using specified hand tools, fixtures, tooling and equipment. Conducts activities consistent with specified quality requirements and maintains a high level of safety. Major Position Responsibilities:
Per ITAR requirements, US Citizenship is required for employment. Individuals with dual citizenships will not be considered.
Pay Range (USD): $38,797.35 - $58,196.02 Benefits: Employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and basic life insurance as well as pre-tax spending accounts. Employees are also able to enroll in the company's 401k plan and are eligible for the Non-Contributory Retirement Contribution. Works with hazardous materials and explosives. Reports to and receives work assignments from Lead and/or Supervisor on activities. Follows standard operating and safety procedures for the handling, processing and assembly of propellants, chemicals and propellant containing assemblies using specified hand tools, fixtures, tooling and equipment. Conducts activities consistent with specified quality requirements and maintains a high level of safety.
- Works with hazardous chemicals and explosives.
- Understands the hazardous characteristics and compatibility of propellants and other chemicals used in cartridge assembly; handling pyrotechnic/chemical materials and the required safety requirements.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of work instructions (WI) and standard operating documents associated with equipment and tooling.
- Complies with all safety regulations and reports or corrects hazards.
- Understands and complies with all quality requirements and meets satisfactory production standards and inspection requirements.
- Follows verbal and written work directions as assigned by Supervisor and/or Lead personnel.
- Performs propellant and assembly operations in accordance with written instructions.
- Works extended hours on week days and weekends and works all shifts (day, night or weekend) when work load and/or operating requirements dictate.
- Uses various hand tools, fixtures, tooling and equipment to accomplish the work required.
- Maintains a well-organized, neat and safe work area. Immediately terminates any unsafe activities and advises the production Lead/Supervisor of the same.
- Demonstrates and promotes teamwork and cooperation with team members at all levels in the organization.
- Wears and cares for personal protective equipment (PPE) required to perform assigned tasks.
- Reports to work on time and reliably in accordance with assigned schedule.
- Works with other personnel in the department in a positive manner to solve problems and improve processes.
- Uses precision measuring equipment to obtain process data (micrometers, scales, calipers, etc.)
- Performs simple mathematical calculations and understands both the English and Metric units of measure.
- Utilizes computers (MS Office Software) to locate and enter processing data.
- Operates and maintains equipment as assigned.
- Moves materials to and from storage and production locations.
- Successful completion/achievement of torque certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively reading and writing in the English language.
- Capable of following verbal and written work directions in the English language.
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to navigate and enter data into spreadsheets.
- Ability to be flexible and work with limited supervision.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. repetitively.
- Must be able to work in environments requiring the use of a full-face respirator.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least three (3) years prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, or equipment repair.
