Job Description:
The State Playoff qualifier and perennial Top-3 League finisher, KIPP Denver Collegiate High School Girls Soccer program is looking for a Head Coach. This person must have a good knowledge of KIPP Denver Collegiate and the community we serve where academic achievement and student families are very important to its success. He/She will teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills and work with athletes to prepare them for 14 to 18 matches that run from March 1st through May 21st. Creating tough daily practice plans, teaching, coaching, and training some of the most skilled high school players in the SW Denver area are requirements. A flexible work schedule is a must as the coach must be able to ride the team bus to away matches that may leave as early as 1:30pm.
The Coach is an expert on the rules, strategies, and techniques required for the sport and is responsible to assist in the coordination and recruitment of student participants. The Coach must maintain a safe environment for all student-athletes under his/her care, especially the teaching and modeling of good sportsmanship and character development. The Coach must accept his/her role as an extension of our fine schools in every community we compete. This means having excellence in communicating positively with players, families, opponents, officials, and staff. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action and/or immediate dismissal. Spanish speaking is a plus but not a requirement.
Position Summary: The KIPP Denver Girls Soccer program is seeking the best available leader for young women to be a success on the soccer field and in the classroom. The Athletic Director needs the Head Coach to be highly energetic, mobile to physically demonstrate drills and strategies, and have an advanced skills/experience as a soccer strategist. The Head Coach is responsible for implementing and leading practices and matches 4-6 days a week. The coach is responsible for safety, teamwork, and team unity to team members as we build toward a larger number of participants in the coming years.
Essential Responsibilities:
Leads the Girl's Soccer team with the present and future in mind.
Leads the Assistant Coach in team responsibilities.
Assists in recruiting and retaining KDC student-athletes and continuously evaluates player skills and assigns team positions accordingly.
Helps distribute, manage, and collect equipment and uniforms.
Attends all required department meetings, events, and fundraisers. This includes end-of-season banquets, team dinners, or other team activities.
Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the AD.
Is available to help plan and lead off-season program events including conditioning.
Assists in fulfilling all administrative tasks including electronic player and parent communication.
Represents KIPP Denver Collegiate in a professional manner at all times. No foul language.
Assists in supervising athlete behavior, grades, and grade eligibility.
Ride team shuttle/bus to away competitions.
Spanish Speaking capabilities are a plus
Schedule and Considerations:
Monday to Friday (occasional Saturday), 2-4 hours most days between 3-7pm
Must ride on the team bus to away matches (away matches are the exception and the day may last 7 hours)

Qualifications/Experience preferred:
At least two years of previous head coaching experience at a similar competitive level
Heavy physical lifting (25 lbs maximum)
Standing, bending, running, repetitive motion, squatting required on a daily basis
Ability to describe, lead, instruct, and perform all Soccer -related drills at a top speed
High School Varsity and/or College Player (Preferred)
Requirements:
Submit a Coaching and/or professional resume and include at least 2 references
Must get CHSAA certified and abide by all CHSAA rules
CPR/First Aid certified.
Must pass the Denver Public Schools fingerprinting and background check requirements
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; College experience is a plus

Compensation and Benefits
Pay: Payment will start at $3,400-$3600 for the 11-week season, commensurate with experience and availability paid monthly throughout the season (3 payments).
