In our statewide Corrections and Community Reentry Services, we provide specialized case management services to help people prepare to return to their families and communities after they’ve been incarcerated. We work both inside prisons and in communities to conduct screening and assessments for substance use disorders, place clients into treatment programs, and provide support with such activities as insurance enrollment, obtaining a state ID, and finding employment resources.

We are currently looking for full-time Workforce Case Coordinator:

Summary of this position: TASC Workforce Case Coordinators (WCC) will coordinate, monitor, and provide pre-and post-release services for men enrolled in the Improving Reintegration through Careers (IRTC) program designed to increase employability, enhance client motivation, improve life skills, offer referrals and support that ultimately lead to employment opportunities for men leaving the following IDOC facilities: Shawnee, Pinckneyville, Vandalia, Vienna, and returning to the southernmost 28 counties in Illinois.

  • Work collaboratively with five (5) IDOC facilities, NYU, staff, partner agencies, public agencies, and resource providers in the community in achieving career and service plan goals. Approximate 45% of time spent in this area.
  • Develop and manage the grant deliverables and support the workforce development curriculum
  • Provide community referrals for identified needs of the client
  • Interviews clients, review records, and confer with other professionals to determine clients progress, and suitability for program participation
  • Collaborate with external partners to schedule job interviews in the community
  • Work with the IDOC’s reentry counselors to ensure that the participant has vital documents needed to obtain their state identification and that they are enrolled in Medicaid and other public benefits for which they are eligible
  • Monitor all participants for 12 months following post-release unsubsidized employment
  • Coordinate with partner organizations, trainers, facilitators, or IDOC personnel working with the workforce development program to ensure streamlined service delivery and track client’s enrollment and progress. Approximately 25% of time spent in this area.
  • Liaison with workforce planning entities, NYU, IDOC, Parole, community partners
  • Ensure assigned program activities and grant requirements are implemented successfully
  • Identify, develop, and maintain workforce development partnerships and network with other program liaisons
  • Monitor, track, and report enrollment of program participants in external workforce development boards (Worknet & JobLink)

Our Ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, business or related field from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred
  • At least two years’ experience in human service field or workforce development field
  • Specific knowledge necessary for working with individuals and families engaged in high-risk behaviors
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
