Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park, part of the Montgomery Parks system, is seeking several part-time Visitor Services Aides. Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park (WMCP) offers programming focused on the Underground Railroad, 19th century African American communities, Quaker Heritage, and 19th century agricultural life.

Visitor Services Aides work in the Reservations Office and Visitor Center providing professional and knowledgeable customer service for phone calls, emails, and onsite visitors. Visitor Service Aides assist a wide range of audiences attending a program or visiting WMCP.

Candidates must be able to maintain a positive customer interaction regardless of the situation. Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, possess a strong attention to detail and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.

This position pays at a rate of $16.00 - $21.44 per hour. depending upon qualifications

Work Schedule: Year-round, at least two (2) days per week (Tuesday – Friday) 9:30 am – 3:30 pm; plus, April – November availability to work at least 1 weekend day a month.
Schedule may vary, depending upon scheduled tours and programs

Examples of Important Duties

  • Work in the WMCP Reservations Office and Visitor Center providing professional and knowledgeable customer service in a clear, concise, and helpful manner for phone calls, emails, and onsite visitors.
  • Schedule, confirm and track payments for group tours, photo permits, business rentals and other programming at WMCP. Work cooperatively with Education Program Manager & Historic Site Manager to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Work in the Visitor Center (April – November). Open/close public buildings, answer park patron questions and provide direction, check-in program attendees, ring up admissions and gift shop sales, as needed assist with cleaning/sanitation of public restrooms and public spaces.
  • Assist with onsite business meetings including opening/closing buildings, set-up/breakdown and serving as day-of point of contact for clients.
  • As needed, assist with development and delivery of programs and tours.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an administrative position
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS) and Point of Sale reservations/customer database system (RecTrac)

Supplemental Information

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to regularly work onsite/in person with staff, volunteers, and the public.
  • Ability to regularly move between the museum, visitor center, historic buildings, and grounds.
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up 30 lbs.
  • Use of multiple technical equipment and software applications is required.
  • Ability to provide regular transportation to work. No public transportation to the work site.
This year-round, part time position does not qualify for benefits

Salary is based on experience.
