Position Description

The Volunteer Coordinator oversees volunteer activities and provides assistance in direct patient care services, including offering to assist patients and families with volunteer needs. As a Volunteer Coordinator you will:

  • Coordinate all volunteer activities, including monitoring and evaluating volunteer performance, recruitment/retention and training and orientation of volunteers
  • Ensure understanding of family dynamics, coping mechanisms and psychological issues surrounding terminal illness, death and bereavement
  • Enforce procedures to be followed in an emergency, or following the death of the patient
  • Attend and successfully complete additional training, which is consistent with the specific tasks that the Volunteer Coordinator performs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 - 2 years of office management experience
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Has strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
