Position Description
The Volunteer Coordinator oversees volunteer activities and provides assistance in direct patient care services, including offering to assist patients and families with volunteer needs. As a Volunteer Coordinator you will:
- Coordinate all volunteer activities, including monitoring and evaluating volunteer performance, recruitment/retention and training and orientation of volunteers
- Ensure understanding of family dynamics, coping mechanisms and psychological issues surrounding terminal illness, death and bereavement
- Enforce procedures to be followed in an emergency, or following the death of the patient
- Attend and successfully complete additional training, which is consistent with the specific tasks that the Volunteer Coordinator performs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 - 2 years of office management experience
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Has strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
