VERMONT FAMILY SEEKS FULL TIME NANNY IN COLCHESTER! Job at The Nanny League, Inc.

The Nanny League, Inc. Colchester, VT 05446

Overview:
LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY! COLCHESTER, VT- Down-to-earth and adventure-loving family based outside of Burlington, VT seeking an active, fun-loving, and professional FULL-TIME NANNY to care for their 2.5-year-old son and 6-week- old daughter. They are looking for care Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with plenty of opportunities for weekend overtime. Benefits include 12 days of paid leave (vacation + sick leave to use at your discretion), Federal holidays off, a competitive salary (85K annual+, DOE), and a healthcare stipend. The family lives full-time on Lake Champlain in Vermont with tons of space for outdoor adventures. The family likes to get outside every single day and their home in Vermont offers acres of land for creative, play-based learning. Nanny should be excited to play and explore outside, even in the winter. The family doesn't mind mud and messes, and the nanny shouldn't either. However, safety is always a priority!

Dad is the CEO of a tech startup and Mom is a documentary filmmaker. Both work hard to allow for lots of time and fun together as a family. They value creating memories together, traveling, laughing, and enjoying life. They are looking for a nanny who will feel like a part of the team and be an energetic, enthusiastic, and positive addition to their family. In return, they want the nanny to feel supported, respected, and inspired to help create a magical life for the children and themself.

Son is silly, happy, curious, quick to laugh, a total waterbug, and obsessed with trucks. He is currently in preschool. Nanny duties may include drop-off, pick-up, and lunch/snack making. We plan to take our son out of school for the two weeks before our due date to reduce our risk of COVID, so we hope to find an awesome nanny to start in October to care for our son while we wait for the baby!

Nanny must have experience with newborns, toddlers, and caring for multiple children. An ideal candidate always has an activity, song, art project, sensory bin, etc up their sleeve to engage children while also leaving ample time in the day for independent and imaginative play. Nanny will be responsible for all childcare-related duties including but not limited to: diapers, feedings, snack, and lunch prep & cooking, laundry, light housekeeping related to the child, facilitating play and arts & crafts, games, activities, etc. While childcare will be the nanny's chief responsibility, the family may ask for help running errands during work hours, especially during the first few months while Mom is on maternity leave. An ideal candidate would be very proactive about helping out around the house, researching recipes and making food for the children, and identifying and planning fun adventures at local museums, libraries, farms, etc.

Both Mom and Dad work from home. Mom and Dad love being able to take breaks throughout the day to play with their children so the nanny should be comfortable with parents being around during the day. Dad's parents live nearby and will likely come over during the week to visit their grandson once it is safe to do so. Nanny must be comfortable with this as well.

The family has two small, hypoallergenic Labradoodles who add a lot of fun and laughter to their lives. An ideal candidate loves dogs. The nanny may need to let the dogs out during the day and occasionally may be asked to drop them at the groomers or with their trainers.

During the summer months, the parents will take extended vacation time, and days will likely be spent exploring Lake Champlain by boat. Nanny must be a strong swimmer and love being on and in the water as this is a big part of the family's life. Family will also host family and friends. Nanny will be included in the fun and treated as part of the family.

The family looks forward to resuming multiple annual vacations once the baby is born, usually to the Caribbean, Hawaii, National Parks, and Europe. They hope that the nanny will accompany them on many of these trips. Caribbean travel is currently being planned for Feb and June 2023. Nanny must have their car and clean driving record for running errands as needed, but will be reimbursed for gas & mileage.

The nanny will be expected to follow all pandemic guidance issued by the State of Vermont and the CDC. The family is extremely cautious when it comes to COVID and keeping each other safe and healthy is incredibly important to them. Nanny must be fully vaccinated and willing to get boosters when available.
