Job Duties and Responsibilties:
Transports passengers in a van between UH-West O`ahu and designated drop-off/pick-up areas.- Provides information, direction and assistance as needed.
- Treats all passengers in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
- Operates a passenger van safely and efficiently.
- Follows scheduled routes, chartered routes or responds to requests from management for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.
- Kindly assists passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle.
- Reports accidents, safety situations, vehicle condition, or any damages to supervisor.
- Reports items left behind and maintains a log of items.
- Inspects exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior lighting, air conditioning, mirror adjustment, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, etc. prior to driving the van.
- Ensures that both inside and outside of the vehicle are properly cleaned.
- Responsible for keeping van fueled.
- Maintains orderly conduct of passengers within the vehicle.
- Accurately completes driver trip sheet each shift with information including number of passengers, user UH ID numbers, pick up and drop off times, mileage, destinations, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license to drive in the State of Hawaii.
- One-year work experience in the operation of a motorized vehicle
- Understanding the operation of motorized equipment; including but not limited to laws, rules and regulations governing operation of motor vehicle on streets and highways; hazards and safety precautions.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Able to sit for up to 6 hours per shift.
- Ability to complete log and trip sheets accurately.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous manner.
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.
