Job Summary:

This is an entry-level, evening shift position working in a production environment. As a Truck Driver, Strip Crew Laborer, you are responsible for the safe operation of a Yard Truck for hauling empty and loaded trailers in and out of the Plant facility for loading of Precast units. In addition to truck operation, as a Strip Crew Laborer, you are responsible for disassembly and secondary operations of Precast concrete units.

Essential Functions:

• Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidelines. Support business activities, objectives, and programs.
• Arrive at work at the time scheduled. Upon the start of work be prepared with proper PPE.
• Punch in at time clocks to the appropriate job and product that you will be working on.
• Help prepare/stage materials and tools for the next day to maintain efficient workflow. Inform Crew Leader of missing materials or tools to avoid stoppage.
• Maintain proper care & storage of materials, mold, tools, and equipment.
• Follow Crew Leader’s instructions to maintain a steady workflow throughout the day.
• Clear verbal communications with co-workers and crew leaders.
• Pre-inspection of Yard Truck and Yard Trailers.
• Safely operate and drive Yard Truck in and out of the Precast Plant facility and surrounding storage yard.
• Properly connect and disconnect air ride trailers from the Truck.
• Strap don Precast units before moving loaded trailers to storage.
• Disassemble Precast concrete forms.
• Properly clean and dispose of waste materials
• Operate cutting torches, saws, and other tools assigned for daily tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ability to meet established deadlines.
• Check-in and out with Crew Leader before leaving work/leaving the work area for any reason.
• Notify Crew Leader of any upcoming scheduled time off, appointments, etc.

Requirements, Education, and Experience:

• Experience working in the manufacturing/construction environment preferred
• Heavy Truck, Trailer, and Equipment Operation preferred
• Valid Driver’s License, required
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred
• Proficient verbal and written English
• Legal right to work in the U.S.

Travel: Position may require up to 5% travel based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position works primarily indoors, but some outside work will be required. Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. Driving Yard Truck in and out of Precast Plant facility and surrounding storage yard. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
