Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Triage Tech position is to work in cooperation with the Triage Nurse to greet and direct customers, triage the sick and injured, initiate emergency care as situations dictate, and maintain a safe and clean environment in the Emergency Department waiting room, play area, and vending area.
Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Current EMT license certificate required.
3. Current CPR certification.
Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and an FBI criminal history check required.
Typical Working Environment and/or Conditions:
- Subject to adverse weather conditions while traveling 35.00%
- Potential exposure to infect diseases/toxic waste/irritants 35.00%
- Frequent interruption, crowded conditions or excessive noise 65.00%
- Subject to injury from confused, combative patients 35.00%
- Work with heavier capacities with mechanical lifts 65.00%
- Manual and finger dexterity to operate computer & equipment 100.00%
