Position Summary

Our Transportation Coordinator / Maintenance Assistance is an entry level position and goes up to 19/hr! This role loads, transport, and unload patients for medical appointments and activity outings in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The Maintenance Assistant portion provides quality maintenance functions to the facility in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical technology preferred
  • Valid driver’s license or valid commercial driver’s license in current State, as applicable, with a satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards
  • Minimum of one (1) year maintenance experience preferred
  • Prior experience in health care or geriatrics preferred

Specific Job Requirements

  • Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements
  • Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipment
  • Inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Basic computer skills
  • Complete pre inspections before use of vehicle
  • Monitor regular maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.)
  • Transport patients to and from medical appointment
  • Coordinate transportation schedules
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility
  • Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
  • Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
  • Complete pre inspections before use of vehicle
  • Monitor regular maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.)
