Do you have Construction experience and a hunger to learn a new skill? A Total Station is a modern surveying instrument that can measure and record distances by automatically finding and focusing on a target. This uses electronic theodolites with an electronic distance meter.

This position is 1st shift, has on-the-job training from an experienced Total Station operator, great crews, great company, independent work, and more!

The Total Station Operator is responsible for accurately coordinating layout, physical coordination, building corners and setbacks of plumbing and HVAC points, equipment points, sleeves, inserts, and 3D scanning projects as needed to maintain progress and/or productivity on all types of Agricultural and Commercial job sites. The successful candidate must be responsible, self-motivated, have great attention to detail, and be willing to work in a team environment. This position will work closely with field crews, supervisors, superintendents, and other members of the team. This position will include training!

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Complete accurate layout points, collect data, perform basic mathematical calculations, and quality checks during the construction phase of a project.
• Provide technical support to Superintendents, field personnel, concrete foreman, concrete supervisor, and customers.
• Coordinate and perform work while managing stress and jobsite demands.
• Effectively communicate plans, reports, and needs to the Superintendent, Site Foreman, and Concrete Supervisor as often as required.
• Provide recommendations on most productive way to lay out a project or area.
• Enter all required information into Procore.
• Provide efficient and accurate layout to the field utilizing Trimble RTS, while displaying high productivity and safety in wide varieties of working conditions.
• Collaborate with all departments to ensure files are accurate for layout.
• Coordinate directly with concrete supervisors and superintendents for scheduling.
• Properly care for and inspect Trimble Total Station and all associated regularly to ensure its condition
• Keep running log of Trimble kit items and location.
• Attend job site meetings as needed with, supervisors, superintendents, and customers.
• Update point files with all field conditions or changes.
• Follow all instructions of Trimble Total Station to ensure accurate handling.
• Focus on safety and model best safety practices for our team members.
• Represent the company positively and professionally in relation to Fox Cities Builders Core Values.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License is required.
• Knowledge of the general construction industry and the sub-contractor trades is required.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics needed for precise measurements and executions is required.
• General knowledge of the construction industry is required.
• Understanding of and ability to accurately evaluate structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Strong proficiency in Windows operating environment, MS Office 365 is preferred.
• AutoCAD/Revit/Procore experience preferred.
• Experience using Trimble/Total Station instruments and software is preferred.

• General knowledge to specific piping systems is preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in construction industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to elevate to heights of 40 feet or higher and lift 75 pounds or more.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs and into equipment as needed.
• Must be physically able to walk on uneven, wet, slippery, or grainy surfaces.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures as well as in rain or snow types of conditions.
