Sun Devil Athletics seeks an experienced Tennis Racket Stringer. The Tennis Racket Stringer is primarily responsible for stringing/re-stringing tennis rackets for the teams. Familiarity with the game of tennis and prior experience stringing rackets is required. Candidate needs to be able to pick up and drop off rackets to the tennis facility on a daily basis. The team stringer will manage all players from both the men’s and women’s teams with both stringing and racket customization work. This individual must possess a high attention to detail, be dependable, professional, and have excellent people and customer-service skills. Reports to Head Tennis Coach. Position adheres to NCAA and PAC-12 rules and regulations, as well as to the policies of the department, the University, and the AZ Board of Regents.

• Carefully and efficiently install strings according to racket specifications
• Recommend strings and tension for players to enhance their playing style
• Maintain accurate inventory and service logs for all stringing transactions
• Provide proper support to understand how to do racket customization work
• Stay up-to-date on all the latest stringing technology
• Works with manufacturers on having the latest equipment
• Identify possible damage or defects to rackets and/or strings and assess the necessary corrective actions
• Repair and/or replace accessories as needed
• Assist with equipment set up/take down during team practice
• Assist with match day preparation and clean up
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and managing customer needs
• Other duties deemed necessary to support daily operations of the department

• One year stringing experience for advanced players
• One year with racket customization work
• A strong understanding of all tennis related products required
• Experience organizing camps
• Minimum one year work experience with a university tennis team
• Demonstrated familiarity with all types of string, string patterns, and rackets
• Present yourself in a positive and professional manner at all times
• Ability to multitask and be adaptable
• Work well in a team environment
• Valid driver's license

• Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long hours
• May have exposure to outdoor weather, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather
• Must be able to drive
• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays as required
