Technical Support Specialist

The Technical Support Specialist is a full-time entry-level internal help desk position responsible for both remotely and on-site troubleshooting of various hardware and software systems, including but not limited to: the pharmacy software system, point of sale system, document management system, printing, storage, network, and voice communications, workstations, laptops, POS registers, fax machines, printers, scanners, dispensing systems, telephone, internet equipment and services.

This position requires existing exceptional customer service skills and ability to troubleshoot technical problems and will provide on the job training to willing applicants to ensure success.

Preferred experience:

  • 1+ years of Help Desk or Tech Support experience utilizing a ticketing system or managing a ticket queue.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware/software issues and networks/server issues.
  • Knowledge of basic networking (switching & server knowledge, Quality of service, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, IP Addressing, 2.5GHz, 5GHz, Ping, Traceroute, nslookup).
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Bonus experience:

  • Ability to write basic bash, batch, or powershell scripts.
  • Linux CLI.
  • Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager.
  • Prior pharmacy experience.

The job expectations are as follows:

  • Communicate and work cooperatively with other members of the department.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Learn new skills and technologies as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information accessed in course of duties.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Travel to pharmacies (one or two days a week, occasional overnight stay).
  • Exhibit effective verbal and written communication.
  • Proper use of company property (i.e. vehicles, computers, phones).
  • Be on time.
  • Transport, lift, and deliver up to 50 lbs.
  • Establish effective working relationships with teammates and vendors.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree (or working towards one) or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Customer service focused.
  • Ability to successfully troubleshoot complex technical problems.
  • On-site at our new corporate office in New Era, MI (except travel days or on-call).
