Overview
The School of Nursing Student Success Facilitator is responsible for providing support for BSN students in all semesters of the program related to study and test-taking strategies, time management, and advising. The individual will coordinate a peer to peer mentoring program and an alumni mentoring program, as well as manage the peer tutoring program. The FIND (
Fisher Improves Nursing through Diversity) – Student Success Facilitator will serve on the undergraduate curriculum committee and serve on additional work groups as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
- Support recruitment efforts for the grant-funded FIND program, working in collaboration with the Project Director and first-year admissions recruiter.
- Manage the peer to peer mentoring program, training mentors and matching mentors with mentees
- Develop and manage the alumni nurse mentoring (i.e., peer –to-peer and peer-to-professional), matching mentors with mentees
- Provide one-on-one or small group support tutoring sessions for FIND students
- Attend and participate in the BSN meetings and BSN orientation
- Work with the Associate Dean to plan, develop and implement evaluation tools to assess FIND student progress
- Participate in meetings (internal and external to WSON) and other activities that advance the mission and goals of WSON and SJFU
- Participate in professional development opportunities relevant to the position
- Organize and implement Cardinal Nurse Camp, a non-residential summer immersion program for rising high school seniors
- Assist the Program Director in preparing narrative grant reports to the funder.
Education / Experience
Prefer BS prepared registered nurse, two years of clinical experience, experience working with First Generation College students and underrepresented students.
