Student Success Facilitator WSoN

Overview
The School of Nursing Student Success Facilitator is responsible for providing support for BSN students in all semesters of the program related to study and test-taking strategies, time management, and advising. The individual will coordinate a peer to peer mentoring program and an alumni mentoring program, as well as manage the peer tutoring program. The FIND ( Fisher Improves Nursing through Diversity) – Student Success Facilitator will serve on the undergraduate curriculum committee and serve on additional work groups as assigned.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support recruitment efforts for the grant-funded FIND program, working in collaboration with the Project Director and first-year admissions recruiter.
  • Manage the peer to peer mentoring program, training mentors and matching mentors with mentees
  • Develop and manage the alumni nurse mentoring (i.e., peer –to-peer and peer-to-professional), matching mentors with mentees
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support tutoring sessions for FIND students
  • Attend and participate in the BSN meetings and BSN orientation
  • Work with the Associate Dean to plan, develop and implement evaluation tools to assess FIND student progress
  • Participate in meetings (internal and external to WSON) and other activities that advance the mission and goals of WSON and SJFU
  • Participate in professional development opportunities relevant to the position
  • Organize and implement Cardinal Nurse Camp, a non-residential summer immersion program for rising high school seniors
  • Assist the Program Director in preparing narrative grant reports to the funder.


Education / Experience
Prefer BS prepared registered nurse, two years of clinical experience, experience working with First Generation College students and underrepresented students.
