About Saint Johns Program for Real Change
Founded on the steps of St. Johns Lutheran Church in 1985, Saint Johns Program for Real Change has helped more than 30,000 women and children transform their lives from poverty and dependence to confidence and self-sustainability. Dedicated to the eradication of homelessness once and for all, this up-to-18-month comprehensive residential program provides families with the tools they need to address the root causes as well as the symptoms of homelessness: mental health therapy, drug and alcohol counseling, life skills classes (anger management, parenting, budgeting, positive thinking, healthy relationships and more), a path to a high school diploma and a proprietary Employment Training Program, with 96% of its graduates securing unsubsidized employment. Saint Johns serves up to 270 women and children daily which translates to up to 600 women and children per year. The nonprofits mission is to unleash the potential of women and children in crisis by breaking the cycle of poverty and dependence, one family at a time.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Program Officer Client Success, the Senior Director of Integrated Health Services supports our goal of breaking the cycle of poverty and dependence for homeless families and plays a role in achieving this goal and is responsible for supporting the operations, services, and activities of the Integrated Health Services Department.

Priorities
The Senior Director of Integrated Health manages the following priorities:

  • Develops, evaluates and coordinates effective and efficient service delivery supporting clients to achieve self-sufficiency.
  • Functions at a highly skilled level in team leadership, assessment, individual counseling, group facilitation, and community resource development.
  • Contributes to the professional and organizational development of Saint Johns, its team and clientele.
  • Exemplifies One Team, One Goal, One Saint Johns through the values of courage, effort, gratitude, love, respect, community, and growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Operations

  • Delivers clinical leadership, staff management and organizational strategy
  • Provide mental health assessments, appropriate mental health diagnoses and develop clinical treatment plans.
  • Implement a variety of direct treatment services to clinic patients and their families.
  • Facilitate coordination of multi-disciplinary services to clients.
  • Assign caseloads to ensure all clients and families receive therapeutic services, while maximizing the clinical teams potential to maintain or increase capacity.
  • Facilitate treatment at team meetings, individual and group supervision, and ongoing clinical trainings, and components of All-Staff New Hire Orientation.
  • Build collaborative relationship with family advocacy and childrens programming to determine optimal treatment solutions for the family.
  • Provide program and case management consultation to other staff members.
  • Establish and maintain effective individual and group relationships with clients, volunteers, donors, the general public, and employees.
  • Desire to work with senior management to drive clinical excellence and accountability.

Management and Organizational Operations: _

  • Manage and mentor department teams and team members as assigned (e.g. Intake, Respite, Aftercare).
  • Develop a team-based environment to motivate and inspire staff to work collaboratively toward vision and goal, by clearly communicating agency vision, implementing yearly staff development plans and mentoring.
  • Implement strategic plan, departmental and staff goals, new initiatives and objectives and track results against these goals as well as accountability protocols.
  • Participate in the budget development process and maintain a high level of fiscal responsibility.
  • Serve as liaison to key agencies
  • In partnership with the CPO, implement departmental coordination, integration, and delivery of all programs, contracts and related services, promoting collaborative relationships between program areas and ensuring that the expectations of funders, partners, constituents, clients, and other stakeholders are consistently met.
  • Respond to government and foundation requests for proposals and applications in partnership with development and senior staff; coordinate planning and activities necessary for development of model program designs in response to RFPs and RFAs.
  • Develop an assessment protocol to determine the feasibility, effectiveness and sustainability of programs as well as lead to more effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Deploy continuous improvement through program quality evaluation, metrics and prioritization.
  • Provide administrative management monitoring performance and payroll for the department.
  • Assist with recruitment, screening, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, supervision, and terminations of all clinical staff
  • Help develop and manage the department budget.

Desired Qualifications_

  • A minimum of five years leadership experience in a nonprofit, government, or healthcare setting, overseeing programs or contracts at an organization serving vulnerable populations.
  • A passion for Saint Johns mission and purpose and an ability to communicate this passion to others.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess advance knowledge of mental health counseling principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Works independently and as part of a team with staff, management, clients, general public, and outside agencies engaged in providing client services.
  • Exhibits strong time management, organizational, conflict resolution, problem solving and computer skills, with an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrate skill in the application of therapeutic methods and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team in a multi-site structure to include professional development and mentorship.
  • Commitment to the values of diversity, inclusiveness and equity.

Education and Experience
Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or in a related field, with two years post-licensure pertinent experience in social services, with an emphasis on program development, supervision, case management, individual and/or group counseling; or any combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the knowledge and ability to complete the duties outlined above. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural knowledge is desirable.

Licensure
Licensure required as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist or Professional Clinical Counselor

Requirements_
Valid CA drivers license and auto insurance is required. TB clearance, background and fingerprint check, will be required before hire and First Aid/CPR certification after hire. Requires a full range of physical mobility, such as bending, stooping, lifting, turning, carrying objects, and grasping, as well as the ability to see and hear.
