Social media is part of the backbone of Black Rifle Coffee, and every single post requires some form of copy – this requires a substantial amount of writing when we’re publishing so many unique items a day. Copy Writer needs to achieve marketing objectives while keeping within the classic, organic BRCC tone, the writer must marry social media writing trends/nuances with a professional output, and other difficult writing tasks must be accomplished on a daily basis.

The copy writer will be responsible for the captions from these posts as well as frequent story offerings as needed. This will typically amount to 1-2000 words of copy a day as the team works ahead. All are crucial to meeting our objectives as a team.
Your Task

• Write all copy associated with main feed posts and any story postings with substance
• Ensure that the copy is entertaining, authentic, inspiring and/or informative, and that it reflects our brand voice
• Work through publishing calendars and approval processes to ensure all posts are covered with appropriate copy
• Work with copy editor to ensure all written copy is up to BRCC standards
• Write marketing copy in an organic, classic BRCC tone
• Work closely with analytics team to optimize copy for social posts
• Identify audience segments and tailor copy to drive both engagement and conversion
• Build productive relationships with the Marketing and Creative teams to foster open communication and ensure alignment across marketing campaigns
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and work with the entire team to conceptualize and develop results-driven creative solutions to a variety of problems
• Comfortable receiving meticulous feedback

Your Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, Journalism, or similar discipline preferred
• 3+ years professional lifestyle writing experience or equivalent
• A strong portfolio with a variety of samples (long and short form)
• A strong understanding of social media, SM trends across the industry, and how to write for it
• Possesses a wide-breadth of writing abilities from short, snappy caption copy to longform educational pieces to writing for a series of IG stories and more social-specific platforms
• Experience with Google Suite (primarily Google Docs and Google Sheets), Microsoft Word, and similar software applications
• The ability to take / provide constructive and positive feedback
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of what language, structure, formal and informal and value propositions will resonate with our customers Outstanding organization and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple requests and responsibilities
• US Military Veteran is Strongly Preferred
