Job Responsibilities:

Frequently identify, evaluate and document complex technical and operational accounting issues, including but not limited to significant contracts, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, mergers and acquisitions, leases, income tax, goodwill/intangibles, equity offerings and stock options.

Liaise with external auditors and external tax preparers, including performing walkthroughs and responding to audit/tax requests. Document or record process walkthroughs such that these interactions are more efficient.

Develop a strong culture of collaboration and high-level execution to create the foundation to support expected growth. This includes documentation of areas that the organization can improve.

Actively and proactively participate in the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and establishment of accounting procedures.

Responsible for the support of various ad-hoc projects pertaining to revenue recognition, technical accounting and other topics.

Prepare monthly reconciliations and analysis for all revenue and deferred revenue accounts and prepare quarterly stock-based compensation calculations.

Analyze and gain knowledge of various product offerings to ensure proper revenue recognition.

Develop “Best Practices” for the revenue recognition team and order operations team

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously find opportunities to improve existing processes and internal controls to build more efficiency and mitigate risks.

Stay current with emerging financial accounting rules and drive the implementation of new accounting rules within the business.

Perform technical accounting research, assessments and implementations.

Review account fluctuations, account reconciliations and other financial analysis as needed.

Supervise and/or manage Revenue Accounting Manager including developing them by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
