General Description
The Senior CNC Programmer works highly dependently to program and setup CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software in a manufacturing environment.

- Programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe or other production machinery according to blueprint specifications.
- Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models then inputs product design into computer modeling software (SolidWorks and CADD/CAM).
- Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications and troubleshoots issues when appropriate.
- Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM, CAMWorks or others).
- Tests accuracy of settings and programs.
- Maintains a safe and orderly work area.
- Ensures compliance with Global Polymer safety practices by wearing PPE and following specific job hazard controls.
- Provides revision control of drawings or programs to maintain the fabrication of quality products to meet customer specifications.
- Communicates and collaborates with production as a specialist in area of expertise – design and programming.
- May assume a team lead role for the machining department when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
education & TRAINING requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Machining Technology is preferred
- At least 2 years CNC Machinist experience with mills and lathes required
- 5+ years related programming experienced preferred
work experience requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Mechanical and design aptitude with strong attention to details is required.
- Advanced math skills required.
- Ability to act and interact with others in a respectful manner.
- Preference given to prior CNC manufacturing, programming, or production experience.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position requires standing, walking, twisting, and occasionally bending. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional lifting up to 45 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Normal memory, taking into consideration the amount and type of information.
- Constant use of hands to pick up, handle and move parts required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
