JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Little Sisters of the Poor, Queen of Peace Residence, is looking for a Security Guard who will be responsible for the security of the Queen of Peace Residence (the ‘Home’) premises. The required responsibilities and duties outlined are consistent with the Home’s policies, procedures, as well as standard compliance with all regulation codes that govern the facility.

JOB STANDARDS:

• Must be a High School graduate or possess the equivalency of diploma.
• Must have a valid Security Guard License as determined by NY State Division of Licensing.
• Minimum of one year security experience preferred.
• Possess basic knowledge of Safety, Fire, and Emergency procedures.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to identify and communicate potential problems related to the safety and security of the Home (both the interior and exterior).
• Available to work in the event of an emergency under diverse conditions.
• Must be in good health, having functional mobility and physical strength to safely perform the essential job functions without reasonable accommodations.
• Effectively interact as a team member within assigned Department and with all department personnel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Maintain interior and exterior knowledge of the Home’s premises.

2. Efficiently monitor the Home’s premises hourlyby vertical tours of each floor to ensure all areas are secure and hazard free.

3. Monitor the Home’s CCTV for any unusual or suspicious activity or potential wanderer. Report and/ or document findings to assigned Supervisor immediately.

4. Follow all policy and procedures in the following areas: safety, security, exposure control, and hazardous waste.

5. Maintain thorough knowledge/ understanding of fire drill and security procedures. Possess the ability to use sound judgement in emergency situations and contact appropriate authorities and personnel.
