GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:
This position will assist in implementing the day to day operational security requirements. Ideal candidate will: have strong administrative skills; be a critical thinker, be extremely organized, possess good writing skills, and be able to balance multiple tasks with competing priorities efficiently, professionally; and work under minimal supervision as well as part of a team. The Security Coordinator must exercise good judgment and decision making, and build strong relationships and trust amongst Security Department colleagues, Museum leadership, departmental staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILIES & DUTIES:

Plan work schedules of all non-management Security personnel

Assign Security personnel to specific sections of the Museum. Adjust Security coverage based on daily operational staffing levels. Ensure that the system of coverage for the galleries is well planned and executed with an emphasis on guardianship efficiency

Properly maintain and update all Security personnel records.

Generate and maintain Manpower and Logistics, and Security Operations Center (SOC) daily reports in the NaviGate Incident Command System

Coordinate communication from the SOC to other departments, including Development, President's Office, Director's Office and curatorial departments

Input time and attendance data (attendance, overtime, etc.) for Security personnel in the WorkDay System

Monitor all video surveillance, electronic, security, fire, communications, environmental and lighting systems throughout the Museum.

Serve as the liaison to other Museum departments, and initial operational liaison to outside agencies such as NYPD, NYFD, FBI, and EMS

Assist with investigative and fact-finding activities regarding security officer, supervisor, and special officer performance and professional attributes

Must be able to exercise discretion and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality

Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and Skills:

Corporate Security, Military, Met Supervisor or Special Officer experience preferred

Exemplary attendance and punctuality
-
Commendable customer service and public relations skills
-
Good judgment, clear decision making, appropriate initiative and professional conduct

Ability to perform and demonstrate self-control under difficult circumstances

Strong leadership skills and a positive attitude

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, required

Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules
Knowledge and Education:

College degree preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred experience using physical security platforms and systems (Mavin, Milestone, Navigate)
Compensation Range:

Pay Range: $27.50 - $28.50/hour
