Retail Relief Staffing Officer Job at Columbia State Bank
Essential Job Functions:
- Interview, hire, onboard, and maintain adequate staffing levels for the retail relief staff in specific market.
- Create and manage schedule for relief staff.
- Proactively work with Retail Administration to anticipate and fulfill their needs.
- Actively supervise, coach, and mentor associates.
- Coach team in regards to proactive customer conversations
- Engage team with digital integration so that they can assist customers proactively and confidently
- Build and maintain relationships with Branch Management.
- Educate new Branch Management about float pool resources, how to access the resource and expectations when utilizing a float CSS
- Partner with Talent Development (training) to coordinate CSS training classes and mentor locations and debrief the learning experience and progress.
- Facilitate Float Orientation sessions to all new hires
- Identify and develop Mentor branches within assigned market that will provide onsite training and mentoring.
- Travel to various Hubs within the specified market to interview candidates and coach current employees.
- Attend Retail meetings as appropriate to build relationships and educate on the relief staffing services.
- Track and report all new hires, transfers, terminations and float turnover ratios.
- Partner with HR regarding employment issues,coaching opportunities, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Responsible for directing and promoting a continuous learning environment
- Must be able to travel on a consistent basis as needed for business purposes.
- Responsible for everyday management of time and attendance system to ensure accurate billing to departments and branches, over and short reports, operational tasks, conducting performance reviews, approving employee exspense reports, coordinate and approve transfer requests, etc.
- Prioritize float requests based on “greatest need” in relationship with Regional Managment.
- Strategically partner with Regional Management during consolidations to reduce the need for layoffs.
- Work with Manager in determining annual budget needs, as well as adhering to established budget.
- Act as a backup to other Relief Staff Officers as needed.
- Work closely with HR to assist with new hire signups, as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Fluency in the English language.

- Minimum of four years of experience in a retail banking environment.
- Previous leadership and/or supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with other departments and branches.
- Previous experience in maintaining organized workflow.
- Must be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual.
- Flexible, with the ability to adapt quickly to change priorities and tasks.
- Ability to create general correspondence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization in verbal and written formats.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring staff.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to develop and maintain working knowledge of Columbia Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ability to effectively multitask.
- Bi-lingual preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Personal Banker and CSS job functions preferred
- Working knowledge of applicable wage and hour laws of WA, OR , CA , NV and ID preferred
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a computer monitor for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive finger, hand, and arm movements
- Ability to lift up to 15lbs.
- Ability to effectively discern information and formulate appropriate action
- Ability to reach, squat, bend, and manually manipulate standard office equipment

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base salary and comprehensive benefits. The annualized range for this role is $50,107 - $70,000, and the pay rate for the successful applicant depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
