Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Perioperative Services, the PreOP/PACU RN is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients’ condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. The ideal candidate will be focused on excellent customer service, have the ability to multi-task, the ability to show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies and have the ability to work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team.

The Pre Admissions Nurse (RN) is responsible for the teamwork and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data in determining nursing diagnosis, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members as appropriate. The Pre Admissions Nurse identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum 1-2 years' previous experience preferred.
• Previous experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Center strongly peferred.
• Current Texas license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current in BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
