Essential Job Functions:
QuEST Global (Engineering) Services NA, Inc seeks candidates to perform the role of Quality Technician (Inspector) in Irving, TX. This non-production/non-MRO technical role focuses on performing quality reviews, inspections, and detailed documentation of wear/distress of non-serviceable Aero-Engine (powerplant) components in conjunction with extending life, improving performance, developing new repairs, and enhancing the scope of reusable hardware of gas turbine engines. This site is a one-of-a-kind test bed for new equipment and processes to improve the production and performance of gas turbine engines. Aftermarket “Part Reviews” are conducted at our customer’s new local MRO clinic site extension of our Connecticut based hub of operations that provides a full array of Quality Engineering Services to large global customers. Experience for this role includes: part evaluations (visual, manual gages, advanced computer assisted metrology gages, photographic documentation), technical documentation within MRP systems / databases, and development of proper Part Review plans as need arises. Develop your skills. This role is parallel to AQE role and either precedes the role of QE.
Specialized Knowledge / Skills
Ability to read/interpret part drawings information. Understanding of GD&T. Layouts.
Familiarity with Aero-engine (Gas turbine powerplant, Turbomachinery) components
Skilled in both Hand/Bench Gaging and Visual Inspections
Talented in accurate digital photographic documentation
Aptitude in operating advanced, computer based, inspection equipment (CMM, non-contact profiling, Microscope wear/distress measurements, et at).
Capable of data entry/retrieval involving e-MRP systems / engineering databases
Familiarity with finished parts from high tech manufacturing processes (metals & composites)
Supporting those in Failure Analysis; R&D, Continuous Improvement, Cost Reduction - useful
Education, Training, and Experience
AS Technical Degree and 3+ years directly relevant experience
Or, Non-Degreed / Non-Technical Degreed candidates having 5+ years of directly relevant experience
Quality and/or Manufacturing certifications - noteworthy
Competent with MS Office suite tools and emails along with excellent communication skills
History with hand tools, PPE, Safety
Handling / transporting equipment

Office and Shop Floor Environments - including the lifting, moving, and tear down of parts

Heavily Regulated Industry with strict adherence to procedures
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late, arriving early, OT
Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other)
