Position Summary:

PSG Cincinnati’s Principal NPD Electrical Engineer works directly with the Global New Product Development Team based in Cincinnati, OH and is electrical engineering technical expert responsible for the planning and supporting development of assigned New Product development projects. This role delivers high quality, innovative, and market leading designs of chemical dispensers and similar products. Additional responsibilities include:

• On time project delivery
• Electronics Project Planning
• Design Reviews
• NPD Process Improvement
• Manage external resources on projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide electronic technical direction and planning for internal and external engineers throughout the research, design, development, construction and launch phases of New Product Development.
• Effectively communicate technical information both orally and in writing with product management, contractors, and colleagues.
• Using strong analytical and experimental skills, with demonstrated ability to plan and conduct technical tasks to solve engineering problems.
• Conduct detailed design reviews to mitigate design risks.
• Mentor other electrical engineers.
• Develop NPD process improvement plans and implement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar degree.
• 2 -3+ years current experience as a lead engineer, project engineer, or product engineer in a new product development or full development lifecycle for embedded control electronic projects.
• A total of 10+ years engineering experience encompassing foundational knowledge in the following:
  • Experience in hardware design with schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout, Altium experience is desired.
  • Knowledge of any or all hardware designs and communication interfaces including but not limited to: PWM control, I2C, SPI, UART, Modbus, USB, 1394, CAN, Ethernet, etc.
  • Experience with designing and writing embedded code for a wide range of electrical microcontrollers, experience with various compilers and debugging tools, and experience with PLCs.
