Preschool Cooking Staff

THE POSITION

We are looking for an energetic and creative part to full-time cook to prepare meals for students at a large and established preschool. Tasks include (but are not limited to):

• Preparing meals (2 snacks and a lunch daily) for 100+ young children
• Order food and kitchen supplies
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen
• Put away food orders
• Generate meal plans / menus with organic food and adhere to nutrition guidelines with the use of variety and creativity in menu planning.
• On occasion answer school phones when administrators are unavailable
• Sub in the classrooms on occasion if needed.
• Cleaning and prepping

Established preschool in La Canada Flintridge, CA. We accommodate approximately 120 families of children aged 2-5. Our facility has 8 classrooms, beautiful and expansive outdoor space, fitted with lots of arts supplies, sand, and toys. We are primarily a learn-through-play institution, however, we do value and integrate structure, curriculum, and kindergarten readiness into our day. We value warm environments and meaningful teacher/child, teacher/parent, and teacher/teacher relationships. We care about our teachers and staff, as we do support and encourage their development as early childhood educators.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have experience working in a kitchen. Preschool experience and ECE units strongly preferred but not required. Must be able to use a computer to complete kitchen orders and make menus for parents.
