Planning Room Paraeducator Job at Cavendish Town Elementary School
The Cavendish Town Elementary School is seeking a full-time paraprofessional to work with children in our Planning Room for the 2022-2023 School Year. This room is a place where children go when agitated to settle in order to regulate and return to class, to mediate differences between peers, to take breaks in order to refocus and to have someone to help them talk through a concern.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of trauma's impact on children and their development, have experience working in an educational environment, be professional and a good communicator. They should be able to provide positive behavioral support, must be reliable, energetic, patient, work well as part of a team and be able to engage in the busy routines of an elementary school setting.
High School Diploma or recognized equivalent required.
Must be deemed Highly Qualified by having a minimum of 48 credit hours at an institution of higher education, or holding an Associate's Degree or higher; or by successfully passing a formal state or local academic assessment.
