Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking a temporary, full-time Operations Specialist to join our Women's Operations team. This temporary position will be responsible for ensuring a sanitary, clean environment by providing cleaning services and assisting with food production in the kitchen. Are you the right person?

Position Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Essential Duties:*

Cleaning

• Provide a sanitary, clean environment for the Mission's facilities.
• Ensures cleaning material and supplies are available.
• Ensures cleaning materials and supplies are stored in a safe orderly manner.
• Reports any maintenance issues.

Kitchen

• Receives food orders and donations and stores in clean and sanitary areas; keeping areas well organized.
• Instructs those working in the kitchen in Health Department standards, food preparation methods, and cooking.
• Oversees preparation and daily use of perishable food.
• Keeps Director informed of kitchen problems and needs; assists in resolving complaints.
• Maintains knowledge of current Health Department regulations.
• Maintains good work relationships with work therapy crews, staff, and volunteers.
• Maintains kitchen equipment in good working order.
• Submits written reports as required by manager.
• Applies good business and management practices to the food service function.
• Attends staff meetings as required.

Other Duties:*
1. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Vice President, Operations.
Qualifications:

• Excellent organizational and administrative skills are essential to job.
• Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
• Must be a team player and have positive and optimistic attitude.
• Proficient in computer skills.
• Moderate reading and writing skills.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.

Physical Factors:*
Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climbing stairs, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
